How You'll Add Value

As a Project Controls Manager, you will be crucial in ensuring seamless communication and coordination between project management and finance teams. Your efforts will enhance financial accuracy, mitigate risks, and contribute to successful project execution.

How You’ll Get It Done

  • Provide and review financial reports to assist project managers with financial analysis of projects to improve project outcomes
  • Schedule and jointly facilitate monthly Cost to Complete (CTC) forecast meetings, ensuring financial accuracy, internal control, and accountability.
  • Gather and analyze financial information to support CTC evaluations, offering insights into committed and direct costs.
  • Assess project schedules, risk assessments, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance decision-making.
  • Support the development of strategies for recovering cost overruns when applicable.
  • Oversee the implementation of internal controls related to change management, budget shifts, contingency management, financial closeouts, and labor management.
  • Develop strategies to control direct labor and material procurement costs, ensuring accurate cost forecasting and proper cost allocations.
  • Implement & distribute financial and labor reporting tools to support carpentry, plumbing, and electrical self-perform teams.
  • Collaborate with field teams to manage and forecast self-perform labor and change management.
  • Assist in generating and reviewing monthly project billings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support estimating teams by improving estimating tools and utilizing historical estimate data.
  • Manage revenue pipelines by collecting and distributing relevant data to finance teams.
  • Oversee Procore software integrations and enhancements, ensuring streamlined data management and reduced redundant entry
  • Manage ongoing system permissions and process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Review accounts receivable compliance with contract requirements and propose strategies to improve collections.

What You're Bringing to the Table 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, construction management, business or related field, or equivalent experience in project accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or manufacturing accounting.
  • Experience with project controls is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and relevant financial software; including proficiency with VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, Data Query, and other advanced formulas
  • Familiarity with Sage 300, Procore, and Office Connector software is a plus.
  • Understanding of job costing and financial forecasting using a divisional cost code structure.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
